NEW YEARS WISHES

A troublesome year is left behind and it is time to look ahead.

In 2021, the Senators hope to be able to compete again in the 2nd Baseball Bundesliga after having to suspend baseball operations due to Covid-19. The softball team is also going to the future with confidence, after some newcomers and the naming of Frank Mohr as new coach seem to have lit a spark for our ladies. Furthermore, a 15U team will start again in the new year, also with a brand new coaching team consisting of Max Lauffer, Stefan Helbig and Can Frieters. Also this year, our youngest (12U)w ill experience further enrichment through new coaches. With Mustafa Korkmaz and Patrick Mohr, the team surrounding new Head Coach David Boll has now a total of 6 instructors

We hope for and look forward to a more pleasant, base- and softball rich and above all a healthy year 2021. That said, Happy New Year on behalf of the Düsseldorf Senators.

A SPECIAL SEASON COMES TO AN END

On Nikolaus Sunday, the base and softball players of the Düsseldorf Senators met via Zoom to conclude a very different and challenging 2020 season. Thanks to everyone who stuck withs us and made this year possible trhough all the circumstances anyway!

BASEBALL OPERATIONS SUSPENDED

Due to the current federal regulations, training will be suspended until November 30, 2020. We would like to thank our members, partners and fans who continue to support us in this difficult time. Take care of yourself and stay healthy!

GAME AND TRAINING OPERATIONS SUSPENDED

The corona virus has our lives fully under control. Many of the measures adopted by the authorities affect us in all aspects of our everyday life. Whether professionally or privately, we are severely limited in what we do. Our favorite hobby (baseball) is not unaffected either. Many questions are determined how things will go on and how things will continue at all. We would like to give you an update on the current state of affairs.

Practice

The field and the gyms are closed until May 4th. This decision is correct given the dynamics of new infections. We should all do our best, also in the private sphere, to minimize contact with other people. We are protecting our elderly citizens in particular!

Game operation

Today we received a message from the DBV (Federal Association of Baseball). The DBV suspends the game operation up to and including May 5th. We assume that this decision will also be supported by the regional association. How and when to continue will be communicated to us in the next few weeks by the DBV.

How do we deal with that?

When we can resume our training is still uncertain. We will communicate exact training times in good time. I urge you not to put your feet up and do NOTHING. Everyone can work on their fitness at home. Please go for a run and if possible throw a few balls (with mom / dad or a friend, no group meetings!). We do not want to waste the good basis that we have developed in the preparation so far. The game operation cannot yet be planned for us. We have to wait and see what the requirements of the association look like. We will have to postpone our season opener (May 5th). The preparatory work for this is not lost as it has only been postponed. We will push the planning forward and adapt it according to the specifications. We hope that we could give a little security. As soon as we have more information, we will inform you as soon as possible.

Please follow the recommendations of the authorities. If possible, stay at home and avoid contact with other people.

Last but not least: stay healthy!
