16U Softball Winter Cup – for the first time in Düsseldorf
On February 22, 2026, the 16U Softball Winter Cup was held in Düsseldorf for the first time. What may have sounded like a classic tournament was, in truth, much more. It was a clear commitment to youth development.
Five young players from the Düsseldorf Senators took the field that day. They competed under real game conditions, continued to grow, took responsibility, and stood up for one another.
Seeing the development of our girls and witnessing this sense of unity filled us as coaches with great pride.
This is exactly what youth sports are about. Not short-term results, but growth. Character. The ability to stand together in difficult moments.
Our thanks go to BSV NRW, who, with this initiative, provided young girls with a platform where they could experience softball under real conditions.
With seriousness. With respect. With passion.
Formats like this send a strong message and show that youth development is not a side issue, but the foundation for everything we aim to build in sport.
We fully support this format and sincerely hope to host the Winter Cup again next year.
Therefore, we do not see the U16 Softball Winter Cup in Düsseldorf as a one-time event, but as a beginning.
We would also like to thank everyone who supported us on-site or helped with the organization that day.
Without your involvement, this experience would not have been possible for our young players.
