U12 starts League Play with two wins

On Saturday, the SG Crows/Senators hosted their guests from Wassenberg for their home game in the state capital.

In perfect baseball weather, the newly formed team played with confidence from the start and consistently pursued the goal of playing successful baseball.
The SG scored at least once in every inning played, resulting in a narrow but never-in-doubt 11-6 victory.
Noah and Aaron, who took the field together as a “battery” for the first time, were key contributors to the win.
Two spectacular “inside-the-park” home runs and other strong hits by Noah, David, Mateo, and Maxim rounded out the first game.

With the first game in the bag, the team entered the second game highly motivated.
Paul earned the coaches’ trust and started the second game of the day as the pitcher on the rubber.
Paul dominated from the start, giving the Wassenberg team hardly any chance to get on base.
He sent 9 of the first 11 batters back to the bench via strikeout.
With this strong pitching behind them, the bats were swung with gusto.
Two more “inside-the-park” home runs by Aaron, doubles by Mateo, Paul, and Theo, and
base hits by Pepe, Maksim, Flynn, Robert, and Leo rounded out the offensive fireworks.
In the end, a comfortable 21-3 victory was on the scoreboard.

Special thanks go to Aaron, who delivered an outstanding performance in both games as catcher behind the plate and at the plate.

Thanks also go to Wassenberg for two fair games, and to all the parents, fans, and friends who spent a wonderful day with us at the baseball field.

Next up is a game on May 3rd in Wuppertal against the Stingrays.
