I’ve only been Head of the Baseball & Softball Department at the TSG Benrath since the 2022 season, kind of like a rookie. I started with baseball in 2005 as a break time activity with my work colleagues and came across the baseball & softball department in 2015 and learned to love this sport, but also the team environment embedded in a club structure.
To ensure that all active members of the Baseball & Softball department, such as players, coaches, umpires and last but not least the scorers, who are irreplaceable for the game, have an ideal environment and optimal conditions for practicing their hobbies, I see it as my primary task, together with the other functionaries of the department management to ensure an effective, smooth and successful organization of the sporting and administrative processes.
I also act as a contact person for the main club and the BSVNRW/DBV, I am involved as a baseball C umpire and C license coach in active play and also act as the baseball coordinator for the men’s teams.

With the club for 10 years.

Coaching experience in all age groups of young people as well as adults.

Coach of the 15U LL until 2023.

Currently coaching the Adults LL.

Many years of professional experience as a licensed basketball coach.
I’m happy to pass on my experience to the young players and get involved here with the Senators.

I’ve been involved with baseball since I was a child and the fire that ignited back then still burns in me to this day.
I have been coaching the catchers of the Düsseldorf Senators in all age groups since 2016 and continue to educate myself through various catcher programs. In 2017 I became part of the softball fun team of the Düsseldorf Wild Senators, which I had been responsible for since then. After the retreat from league competition in 2019, I was glad to be considered a candidate for the Women’s Softball team, which I took over in 2020. ever since I spend as much of my free time as I can to provide the best practices possible.

If I can manage to convey joy, passion and a sense of community, to ignite the little flame that makes this sport so unique, then I know I’ve done a good job.

Qualifications:

Successful participation in the D-License Coaches Course of the BSV-NRW

Successful participation in the Training Childwellfare in Sports (Sexual Prevention and more)

Graduate of the PBI Catcher Academy 2020

My Base- and Softball experience:

1984 to 1987 played for the Hamburg Knightsin the only Women-Only Baseball team in the league

Since 2009 Member of the Senators Softball Team

2014-2019 Coaching all levels of Youth-Baseball

Current Responsiblities:

• Coach and Coordinator for the Women’s Softballteam

And why do I do this?
Because I’ve been obsessed with baseball since the first time I caught and hit a ball. This enthusiasm is increased by the game, which offers so many tactical opportunities and is an individual and a team sport at the same time. To share this enthusiasm, to accompany players in their development, to form a team that is playing together is fulfilling and, for me, one of the best ways to spend my free time.
