Dear players, dear Senators, dear friends of the Düsseldorf Senators,
today we are here to honor a very special person – someone who has shaped our club for many years. Our trainer, our coach, our mentor: Max Lauffer #6
It’s not easy to find the right words to summarize the extraordinary work Max has done for the Düsseldorf Senators over so many years. As a coach, he didn’t just win games, he won hearts. He not only developed strategies, but also shaped characters. He was always there to make us better as players – not just in a sporting sense, but also in a human sense.
Max taught us that baseball is more than just a game. It’s about team spirit, discipline and perseverance. He taught us that we can’t always win, but that we should never give up. And he was the first to help us get back on our feet when we fell down.
In his long time as coach, he led the Düsseldorf Senators to many successes. We remember exciting games, close victories and sometimes painful defeats. But in all these moments, Max was always a rock – a coach who not only saw the talent in us, but also the person behind it.
He was not only a coach on the pitch, but also a mentor off it. He was always there when someone needed advice or support and encouraged us at crucial moments. This dedication, this passion for the team and for each individual player is what makes Max so special.
The Düsseldorf Senators would not be what they are today without his leadership and tireless commitment. He has shaped many players and paved the way for the success of our teams.
Dear Max, on behalf of all the players, parents, friends and supporters, we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts today. Thank you for your patience, your time and your endless dedication. You have shown us what it means to be a team. You have brought out the best in us – on and off the pitch.
We wish you nothing but the best for the future and hope that you will continue to share your unwavering team spirit, passion and love for baseball with us.
Thank you Max!
Max joined the Senators in 2009. He played actively from 2012-2016 and also coached the youth team and later the men’s 2nd team. His player number #6 was retired on 22.09.2024!
