Lina in the City of a Hundred Spires

Whenever the German National Team takes the international stage, a piece of Düsseldorf is there too.

Lina Schwippert, pitcher for the Düsseldorf Senators, was part of Germany’s roster at Prague Softball Week—and returned home with the tournament title.

The left-hander played a key role in Germany’s success with two outstanding performances in the circle. She threw a complete game against Canada’s The North and followed it up with a shutout against the Czech Republic. Her overall tournament numbers speak for themselves:

ERA: 1.40 | WHIP: 0.73 | K/IP: 1.07 | IP: 15.0 | SO: 16 | BB: 2

With those performances, Lina ranked among the tournament’s top pitchers.
