Senators 2 win High-Scoring Thriller against Duisburg, 20–14
The Düsseldorf Senators 2 secured a 20–14 victory over the Duisburg Flying Bats on Saturday in a high-scoring game. After more than four hours of play, the team earned a well-deserved win thanks to a strong offensive performance and great team spirit.
From the start, the game featured many runners on base and numerous runs scored by both teams. The Senators tallied a total of 20 runs on 16 hits and repeatedly posed problems for the Duisburg defense. At the same time, the Flying Bats stayed in the game for a long time and scored 14 runs of their own.
The Senators’ offense, in particular, was impressive throughout the game. Time and again, they managed to build pressure, load the bases, and consistently capitalize on their opportunities. Several players got on the scoreboard and drove in crucial runs.
Despite the hosts’ high output, the Senators held their ground even during difficult stretches and didn’t let Duisburg’s comeback attempts rattle them. With a solid team effort, the Senators defended their lead and extended it further as the game progressed. In particular, the strategy of using three pitchers and a designated hitter worked perfectly, as the Senators always had a fresh pitcher on the mound.
In the seventh inning, the game was finally called off early after Duisburg forfeited. At that point, the Senators were leading 20–14, securing an important road victory.
