The corona virus has our lives fully under control. Many of the measures adopted by the authorities affect us in all aspects of our everyday life. Whether professionally or privately, we are severely limited in what we do. Our favorite hobby (baseball) is not unaffected either. Many questions are determined how things will go on and how things will continue at all. We would like to give you an update on the current state of affairs.
Practice
The field and the gyms are closed until May 4th. This decision is correct given the dynamics of new infections. We should all do our best, also in the private sphere, to minimize contact with other people. We are protecting our elderly citizens in particular!
Game operation
Today we received a message from the DBV (Federal Association of Baseball). The DBV suspends the game operation up to and including May 5th. We assume that this decision will also be supported by the regional association. How and when to continue will be communicated to us in the next few weeks by the DBV.
How do we deal with that?
When we can resume our training is still uncertain. We will communicate exact training times in good time. I urge you not to put your feet up and do NOTHING. Everyone can work on their fitness at home. Please go for a run and if possible throw a few balls (with mom / dad or a friend, no group meetings!). We do not want to waste the good basis that we have developed in the preparation so far. The game operation cannot yet be planned for us. We have to wait and see what the requirements of the association look like. We will have to postpone our season opener (May 5th). The preparatory work for this is not lost as it has only been postponed. We will push the planning forward and adapt it according to the specifications. We hope that we could give a little security. As soon as we have more information, we will inform you as soon as possible.
Please follow the recommendations of the authorities. If possible, stay at home and avoid contact with other people.
