That was the motto of the joint fundraising campaign by Beer Kong and the Düsseldorf Senators women’s softball team. At the start of last season, it was quickly agreed that the money raised from the sale of the beer would be donated to a charitable organization.

We never forget the privilege we have of playing a team sport that is built on community and respect for one another. Many do not have this happiness.

A team that Caro and Janine from Beer Kong undoubtedly belong to.

Making the right choice was the hardest part because there are so many organizations that need help. Organizations that fly under the radar of public perception and fight every day to maintain it.

In the end the choice fell on Pro Mädchen. An association that creates protected spaces for girls and young women. A project that immediately convinced us.

Pro Mädchen – Girls’ House Düsseldorf e.V. offers and creates protected spaces for girls and young women. An essential part of the work is respect and tolerance in interactions as well as acting in solidarity. The association promotes the self-assertion and empowerment of girls and young women so that they can develop and test their own roles, question gender stereotypes and thus have the opportunity to expand their roles. Also against the background of the existing power relations between the genders.

On December 12, 2023, everyone involved was able to see for themselves the work of the association on site. Sarah Pastor, who is responsible for public relations, among other things, showed us around the premises on Corneliusstrasse and explained to us what they do there for the girls from Düsseldorf.

Further projects, such as organizing a softball day on the Düsseldorf Senators field, have already been discussed.

We are very pleased to be able to present the donation of €800.00 to Pro Mädchen and thus pass on part of this year’s success and thank everyone who took part in this project. Your willingness to help was overwhelming
