Second gameday in the 2.BL

On April 30th, 2022, the team from Düsseldorf played their home opener against the visiting Nightmares. This time around they wanted to show that they have teamed up better and are now a team that acts aggressively in their games.

Pitching started with A. DeAngelis, who served good pitches. To the detriment of the team, the Neunkirchen Nightmares’ Canadian importer managed to hit two home runs in his first two at bats of the game, which somewhat dampened the euphoria within the team. They couldn’t get a single run through their entire nine innings, and oftentimes potential runs “stranded” in scoring position.

In the second game, the Neunkirchen Nightmares managed to take the lead by three runs. The Senators followed up with a run and didn’t let it get them down. They managed, in a good offensive fifth inning, to reduce the Nightmares’ lead to 7:5. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to keep up the offensive spark, as the opposing closer did his job very well. The second game also ended in a win for Neunkirchen.

The players learned a lot from the day of the game and will be looking forward to the second game on July 2nd in Neunkirchen.
